Fixing Sweaters You Have Accidentally Shrunk In The Dryer

There are times when we put our favorite clothes in the dryer by accident and if this also happened to you in the past, then you probably know how this feels. But rest assured, as there are many things you could do in order to fix those nice sweaters you got from UglyChristmasSweater.com and make them look and feel like new again.

Place them in the washing machine
The first thing you'll want to do when it comes to fixing the sweaters you have accidentally shrunk is to place them in your washing machine. It's very important that the cycle for the washing machine is set to the shortest one possible, but be sure that you also add a little bit of baby shampoo to the mix. Next, all you have to do is push the start button on the washing machine and let the cycle finish. If you want, you can also do this manually, but the thing is that wringing it out is going to be a bit trickier.

Get a towel

After the sweaters have been washed in the washing machine, you need to get a large towel and then lay the sweaters on it. The towel needs to be laid on a hard surface though, so be sure you keep that in mind.

Flatten the sweater

At this point you'll want to consider flattening the sweater out on the towel. You should also consider pulling and stretching the sweater carefully until it looks the size you want it to. You need to do this by pulling and stretching while holding the bottom and the shoulder seams. Next, you'll need to do the same thing by pulling and stretching the collar and sleeves while holding both sides at the same time until you have the right size.

Roll it up

One of the last things you'll need to do is consider rolling up the towel while it still has the sweater inside it and then let it sit for 2h to 3h so that the water inside it properly absorbed by the towel.

Get another dry towel, roll the sweater in it and then let it sit like that for 1 more hour. Then, all you have to do is unroll your towel and be patient until the sweater dries completely. It's also a good idea that you check it from time to time to ensure that it stays stretched.
